Volkswagon Polo Diesel

One of our team members happened to drive the Diesel variant of Volkswagon Polo and here is what he had to say:-

Launched as a premium hatchback, it fails to live up to the tag. The car has a weak pick up and it is a messy drive on hilly areas and in high volume of traffic. The car essentially lags in powere which is why one needs to shift gears constantly. The cabin noise is pretty evident and should have been minimised, considering the amazing feel of its competitor- Hyundai i10. The car is lacking in leg space too at the back, although the seats are comfy. The interiors of the car are nothing much to write home about. And when it comes to pricing, a price tag of INR 5.42 lacs for the base model and INR 6.82 lacs for the high end model is a bit too much considering its weak performance.

Good points:- A safe ride, good handling, comfortable seats, light gearbox
Bad points- Lags power, weak pick up, cramped at the back, unimaginative interiors, high price

Verdict: The Hyundai i10 and i20 are a better buy any day.
